Cellular Donations
I'm passing this on via Carla's site.
Most US carriers have made it easy for subscribers to donate to the Red Cross for hurricane Katrina relief:
Verizon Wireless, Sprint Nextel and ALLTEL customers can make a $5 donation by sending the text message "give" to the number "24357" (2GIVE).
Cingular Wireless sent a text message to every subscriber asking if they would like to donate $1.99. Simply reply with yes to donate.

o, please, child.
they'll prob put that down as an extra tax. speaking of people putting themselves in a position to profit from tragedy...

Yeah, I don't trust them either...I'd rather give directly to the charity or volunteer my time.

Perhaps I'm a bit gullible. I actually made the donation via the cell phone. I had worries after I did it, but I called the red cross number & a spokesperson told me that it was legit. So, after that, I didn't worry anymore.

Here's a link to the Sprint Nextel site for the non-believers.
