Who You Gon' Call?
I went on my first Ghost Hunting expedition on Saturday evening. It was a Ghost Tour/Investigation and a I really enjoyed it. It was pretty spooky, but I was brave. As most of you know, it has been a life-long dream of mine to become a Professional Ghost Buster. I believe that I am well on my way. Yes...I do have a real job. I learned from the guys at TAPS (of Sci Fi's GHOST HUNTERS fame) that you can hold down a solid 9 to 5 while doing ghost hunting. That's cool. Maybe someday, the Sci Fi Channel will offer me millions to do a paranormal tv show. That would be comedy. lol
I'm getting more familiar with Ghost Hunting equipment. There are some really cool gadgets to play around with. I'm learning the differences between the various types of hauntings that occur. Until recently, I never knew that a Poltergeist was caused by humans as opposed to being caused by "spirits"...I'll delve more into that later.
I've spent countless hours discussing the supernatural with my pastor. We have had some very interesting conversations. At sometimes, I feel conflicted about my interest in the paranormal because I am a Born-Again Christian, but that just makes me want to know even more. I feel that my believe in God & the Bible sort of validates my interest in the paranormal. That's another topic for another day and I'll be certain to delve into that as well.
Anyway...I think I'll call it a night. Goodnight

Food Grillin w/ Sangria Chillin
I'm not one for alcohol, but I have to admit that I've garnered a new found love for Sangria. For those of you who aren't familiar with Sangria...it's in simplist terms a red wine punch. It sometimes has brandy and most often jazzed up with various fruits.
I first had Sangria at a job social quite some months ago. I was hesitant about drinking it because I find wine to be utterly unappealing. A co-worker encouraged me to try it. I tried it. I've been raving about it since. I'm not sure who made the drink, but I kept asking for the recipe. Of course, I never got the recipe but that didn't stop me from searching.
I've fallen in love with Applebee's Red Apple Sangria. That too is quite decadent. I've searched the internet for a similar recipe, but I've yet to find one.
I have found a few equally wonderful Sangria recipes on Recipezaar.com. I made one of those recipes today for my bbq. The recipe is a White Wine Peach Sangria. Someone on recipezaar found this recipe in Bon Appetit magazine some time ago. I loathe white wine, but when I tried this recipe, I've gained a new respect for the wine I cast off awhile ago.
There has not been one person at the cook out who didn't like this recipe. Try it for yourself...
*disclaimer* Please drink in moderation as this is a "sipping" drink. This is a "bridal shower" type beverage to sip and chatter. Don't overdue it. One is enough. If you know you got an Alki in the bunch, then don't drink any at all.
************************************************************
I jazzed it up a bit. I garnished it with frozen white peaches. and I went light on the peach brandy and added a little peach puree. I also siggest using fresh lemonade instead of the concentrate kind...it's too bitter for me. I also eliminated the green grapes and added fresh honeydew. That's my take on this lovely drink.
Enjoy!
White Wine Peach Sangria
1 (750 ml) bottle dry white wine
3/4 cup peach brandy
6 tablespoons frozen lemonade concentrate, thawed
1/4 cup granulated sugar
8 ounces frozen unsweetened peach slices
3/4 cup fresh green seedless grapes, halved
3/4 cup fresh red seedless grapes, halved
1. Sitr together wine, brandy, thawed lemonade concentrate, and sugar until sugar has dissolved.
2. Add fruit and chill for 2 hours, or until very cold.
3. Serve chilled over ice.
