Food Grillin w/ Sangria Chillin
I'm not one for alcohol, but I have to admit that I've garnered a new found love for Sangria. For those of you who aren't familiar with Sangria...it's in simplist terms a red wine punch. It sometimes has brandy and most often jazzed up with various fruits.
I first had Sangria at a job social quite some months ago. I was hesitant about drinking it because I find wine to be utterly unappealing. A co-worker encouraged me to try it. I tried it. I've been raving about it since. I'm not sure who made the drink, but I kept asking for the recipe. Of course, I never got the recipe but that didn't stop me from searching.
I've fallen in love with Applebee's Red Apple Sangria. That too is quite decadent. I've searched the internet for a similar recipe, but I've yet to find one.
I have found a few equally wonderful Sangria recipes on Recipezaar.com. I made one of those recipes today for my bbq. The recipe is a White Wine Peach Sangria. Someone on recipezaar found this recipe in Bon Appetit magazine some time ago. I loathe white wine, but when I tried this recipe, I've gained a new respect for the wine I cast off awhile ago.
There has not been one person at the cook out who didn't like this recipe. Try it for yourself...
*disclaimer* Please drink in moderation as this is a "sipping" drink. This is a "bridal shower" type beverage to sip and chatter. Don't overdue it. One is enough. If you know you got an Alki in the bunch, then don't drink any at all.

I jazzed it up a bit. I garnished it with frozen white peaches. and I went light on the peach brandy and added a little peach puree. I also siggest using fresh lemonade instead of the concentrate kind...it's too bitter for me. I also eliminated the green grapes and added fresh honeydew. That's my take on this lovely drink.
Enjoy!

3/4 cup fresh red seedless grapes, halved
